About Zenobiya: The Arabic Women’s Union of North and East Syria
The Zenobiya Women’s Union has been the umbrella organization of Arab women in North and East Syria since 2021 and is therefore primarily represented in the regions of Raqqa, Tabqa, Minbic and Deir ez-Zor.
Kongra Star Newsletter on the Women’s Revolution – July
In our newsletter for the month of July 2024, we provide information about the activities of Kongra Star and other events related to the women‘s movement in Northern and Eastern Syria. The month of July was dedicated to the 12th anniversary of the Rojava Revolution. Therefore, we report on the celebrations that took place on the occasion of the anniversary as well as on a forum of the Kongra Star Diplomacy Committee, which discussed the achievements of the women‘s revolution with women and organizations
from all over the Middle East.
Another event with lively participation and visibly high morale was the 4th Conference of the Women‘s Defense Units YPJ, which we report on here.
We also report on a campaign launched by the organization SARA in response to recent reports of violence against women and girls.
Finally, we report on an exhibition organized by the Women‘s Foundation WJAS, which gave female artists in the region the opportunity to show their work in public.
