Offener Brief für ein demokratisches Syrien auf der Grundlage der Freiheit der Frauen

Seit dem Sturz des Assad-Regimes in Syrien am 08. Dezember 2024 wird über die Zukunft
Syriens und die damit verbundenen neuen Möglichkeiten eines demokratischen Aufbaus der
Gesellschaft diskutiert.
Es ist unabdingbar, dass die Gesellschaft selbst diesen Aufbau gestaltet
und voranbringt. Genauso ist es unabdingbar, dass die Frauen Syriens an der Gestaltung dieses
Aufbaus beteiligt sind, die Politik und alle Lebensbereiche selbstbestimmt mitgestalten.
Seit mehr als einem Jahrzehnt befindet sich Syrien in einem Bürgerkrieg, der mit dem Aufstand
der Bevölkerung gegen das unterdrückerische baathistische Regime begann, um für
Gerechtigkeit zu kämpfen. Doch es folgten 13 Jahre, in denen die Gesellschaft immer wieder mit
den grausamsten Verbrechen gegen die Menschlichkeit durch verschiedene Terrorgruppen wie
zum Beispiel den sogenannten „IS“ oder Invasionsangriffe der Türkei unter Verletzung des
Völkerrechts konfrontiert wurde.
In Nord- und Ostsyrien hat die kurdische Bevölkerung seit 2012 eine Selbstverwaltung der
Gesellschaft aufgebaut, die auf Frauenbefreiung, Ökologie und Basisdemokratie basiert. Frauen
haben dabei eine sehr wichtige Rolle gespielt. In diesem Gesellschaftsmodell übernehmen Frauen
Verantwortung und sind in allen Bereichen des gesellschaftlichen und politischen Lebens
vertreten. Sie haben sich organisiert, um sich selbst und das Leben aller zu verteidigen. Die
Frauenverteidigungseinheiten der YPJ bekämpften gemeinsam mit der YPG und SDF den „IS“
und befreiten zahlreiche Städte von seiner Schreckensherrschaft. Das Gesellschaftsmodell des
demokratischen Konföderalismus in Nord und Ostsyrien hat ein multiethnisches und
multireligiöses Zusammenleben geschaffen, das als Modell für die Neugestaltung ganz Syriens
dienen kann.
Die Frauen in Syrien haben sich zusammengeschlossen und organisiert, um sich gegen die
Angriffe auf Frauen und die gesamte Gesellschaft zu wehren. Sie sind entschlossen, sich für die
Gestaltung des Friedensprozesses, für den Aufbau einer demokratischen Gesellschaft, für
Wahrheit und Gerechtigkeit einzusetzen. Am 22. Dezember 2024 hat der Syrische Frauenrat aus
diesem Grund eine Deklaration zur Neugestaltung Syriens vorgelegt. In dieser fordert der
Zusammenschluss von Frauen mit unterschiedlichen ethnischen, religiösen und kulturellen
Hintergründen die maßgebliche Beteiligung von Frauen und allen Teilen der Gesellschaft Syriens
an den politischen Prozessen.
Wir unterstützen die 13 Ziele und Forderungen (im Anhang), die vom Syrischen Frauenrat
erarbeitet wurden, damit ein neues demokratisches Syrien auf Grundlage der Beteiligung von
Frauen aufgebaut werden kann. Auch die Anerkennung und Beteiligung der Demokratische
Selbstverwaltung in Nord- und Ostsyrien (DAANES) am akuellen Prozess ist für eine
demokratische Zukunft Syriens unerlässlich. (siehe Anhang zu deren Erklärung)
Wir fordern die internationale Staatengemeinschaft und alle politischen Akteure dazu auf, die
Demokratische Selbstverwaltung in Nord- und Ostsyrien (DAANES) offiziell anzuerkennen, die
dortigen zivilen Organisationen direkt zu unterstützen und langfristige Kooperationen
aufzubauen.
Wir fordern Unterstützung und politische Allianzen mit den demokratischen
Frauenorganisationen und der Zivilgesellschaft in ganz Syrien, statt einer Zusammenarbeit mit
dschihadistischen Gruppen, deren Ideologie und Praxis auf der Erniedrigung und gewalttätigen
Unterdrückung von Frauen basiert.
Wir fordern ebenfalls den sofortigen Stopp der Waffenlieferungen und der politischen
Zugeständnisse an die Türkei. Die diplomatischen Beziehungen mit den Demokratischen Kräften
in Syrien müssen gestärkt werden, um die gewalttätigen Angriffe der Türkei zu stoppen, den
Krieg zu beenden und den Aufbau eines demokratischen Syriens zu ermöglichen.
Jetzt ist die Zeit, die demokratischen Kräfte im Mittleren Osten, wie die DAANES, zu stärken und
sich an die Seite der sich für Freiheit, Frieden und Demokratie einsetzenden Frauen in Syrien zu
stellen!
