Message from Rojava – 03.02.2026

Listen here to our daily update:

Dear friends, sisters and comrades

Here we are with the daily update from Rojava.

These are complex days, historical, in which the feelings of society reflect hope but also fear, determination, pain and pride.

Since this war began, we have seen deep violence taking shape, trying to steal the hope of society, terrorize and immobilize people’s feelings by the method of direct and hard violence. We have seen acts of symbolic violence against statues of YPJ figthers and women’s centers. These acts become powerful weapons against women’s dreams and free wills; we have seen massacres of civilians, rape, destruction of infrastructure, killings, torture and siege tactics.

Now these are all fact well known to those who follow these updates and to those who remember the violence that this land has already lived under with the ISIS occupation before.

However, in these times, where the silence of the mass media and hegemonic powers is deafening, it is particularly important to name the war crimes and violations that are committed and make them visible and audible. Based on this, the Jineolojî Academy in Rojava compiled a dossier that presents and analyzes the war crimes committed in northern and eastern Syria in January 2026.

No war is normal or natural and this in particular shows how the methods of attack can be various and all equally violent. From propaganda videos to fake or manipulated news, to the destruction of bodies: every practice of death is here.

This means, however, that our responsibility has a historical scope, we must act on every level!

From the Jineoloji Academy in Rojava they say: “With these files, we want to be the voice of our slaughtered people, and we will send them to international organizations, and we will follow the process ourselves. We call on all women’s movements, international forces and child protection organizations to take a stand against these violations.”

We must take as example the system of communes that allows every person and especially every woman to find their place in solidarity, resistance and organization and defense of life.

New families continue to arrive from Raqqa, Tabqa, Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiya in the Cazira Canton and the community is working together also with humanitarian organizations to provide essential aid, food and cold management. The spirit of community and mutual support does not tire

From Qamishlo for example, comes a statement from women in the Social Protection Forces – Women (HPC), who have decided to create a new battalion of protection of the neighborhood. they declao:

“We stand by our children on the front line to defend your territories “.

Among these women, one is over 60 years old and has the determination of a young woman: the struggle for ethics, to preserve the values of life, makes every boundary possible to overcome.

As for the agreement, yesterday a convoy of the Syrian transitional government went to the city of Heseke as agreed and today it is in Qamishlo.

reports indicate it went smoothly yesterday and today and we will have to wait for more specific information.

Yesterday in Heseke the Syrian government’s internal forces made their ideology clear when they entered the city holding one finger up. A symbol of one god, one power, one order. This was a symbol often used by ISIS. In contrast the people here held up 2 fingers, the symbol of peace. When shown togeter, 2 people making these symbol only meters apart, it becomes clear the difference of mentality. 2 fingers, A symbol of unity in difference, of togetherness, of diversity. One finger representing a hegemonic centralised power. Both are universal, the symbol and the meaning. The war here was never a regional conflict. The revolution achieved here was never a local things. And the integration process, if done well, if continued in the spirit that the revolution was built with, if done through the vanguardship of women, then it has the potential to democratise the rest of Syria, provide models and a route for the rest if the middle east and to de escalate the global world war 3.

Today the Syrian gov security forces chose not to do the sign today after backlash they received. Today they adopted to act friendly. The spirit of friendship is needed, to democratise the Syrian state, but a true friendship. Not friendly smiles, but a friendship, a sisterhood between the peoples, that has existed for a long long time.

The Rojava Revolution is the Revolution of Hope, where age, geographical boundaries, cultural differences are not barriers but possibilities.

In the name of this, we invite everyone to take part in the organization of solidarity with creativity. Kobane is still under siege, we must break the seige, increase political pressure, involve those who have roles in politics and humanitarian institutions, make known the resistance of this land and also organize symbolic but impactful acts.

We have already said it but today, in this waiting situation, we want to repeat it: Women Defend Rojava is not a slogan but a battle scream, a promise that will not be silenced.

Revolutionary greetings from Rojava
