Since early 2025, as Ahmed al-Shara and his transitional authority tightened their grip on vital sectors in Syria, hate speech ceased to be mere “media noise” or “factional outbursts” and evolved into a systematic government administration. This administration relies on a strategy of “forced identity segregation,” where “Syrian” is redefined based on ideological loyalty, while historical components (Alawites, Druze, Kurds) are pushed to the margins of “illegitimacy.” Words have transformed into blades and tools for desecrating graves and displacing the living.
