“Positive contributions are essential for the success of the process” From the statement of DEM delegation members Pervin Buldan and Sırrrı Süreyya Önder after their meeting with Abdullah Öcalan in Imrali: Rêber APO: – Reinforcing Turkish-Kurdish brotherhood is not only a historical responsibility, but also acquires a fateful importance and urgency for all peoples. – For the success of the process, it is essential that all political actors in Turkey take initiative, act constructively and make positive contributions without getting caught up in narrow and short-term interests. One of the most important forums for these contributions is undoubtedly the Turkish Parliament (TBMM). – The events in Gaza and Syria have shown that the solution to this problem, which is to be aggravated by external interventions, can no longer be postponed. In this sense, the contributions and proposals of the opposition are also important. – I have the necessary competence and determination to contribute to the new perspective strengthened by Mr. Bahçeli and Mr. Erdoğan in a positive sense. – The delegation will share my approach with both the state and political actors. On this basis, I am ready to take the necessary positive steps and make an appeal. – All our efforts will bring the country to an appropriate level and at the same time create a valuable basis for democratic change. – This is the time for peace, democracy and brotherhood – in Turkey and in the entire region.
