This is the first video out of our new series “Women Defend Rojava – Women Defend Kobane” where we take a deeper look at the women’s struggle in Kobane and show interviews about women’s self-organisation there.
In the series, we interviewed 14 women who work and organise in various fields in Kobane region and asked them: What have they built since the revolution and how is life and struggle progressing?
In our first chapter, Rohilat talks about HPC – JIN – The People’s Women’s Defence Forces in Kobane, founded in 2015. In HPC – JIN, women of different ages, especially mothers, are organized to protect and secure their streets, neighbourhoods and communities.
